Middlewood Stations
Macclesfield - Manchester train at Middlewood Higher c1942. The two stations at Middlewood were mainly an interchange between the LNWR Buxton branch from Stockport and the North Staffordshire / Great Central Joint line from Macclesfield to Marple. There was/is no road access and even today intending passengers for trains on the Buxton line have to walk in through the woods.
