Day 10, American Goldfinch female

Day 10, American Goldfinch female
Sorry, more little songbird photos from Tadoussac, Quebec! I seem to so rarely photograph birds, especially small birds, any more - mainly because I go on so few walks. This holiday gave me the opportunity to take photos, especially in our friend's garden in Tadoussac. I know lots of people don't like feeder (or top of fence railng) shots, but I am happy just to get any kind of photos that allow me to see a bird, especially that much closer. This must have been the morning when I managed to get right up to the window instead of having to take my bird shots from the middle of the room and through the window. Almost all the endless dozens of the latter photos came out far too blurry to use. Also, it feels good to see a little bit of colour on yet another day of our ongoing deep freeze! This evening, at 6:00 pm, the temperature is -25C (windchill -33C). Needless to say, we are under an Extreme Cold Warning. Some parts of Alberta are having wind chill temperatures of -40C or even -50C! Stay warm, everyone!

Now I can start editing photos taken in the afternoon of 16 May 2018, Day 10 of our holiday to Point Pelee (Ontario) and Tadoussac (Quebec). That afternoon, we drove down into Tadoussac to the dry-dock, where we parked and waited .. and waited ... and waited : ) Twice a year, Tadoussac gets a High Tide, and we were lucky enough to experience this fun event.
