Forio, Ischia: the Church of Santa Maria del Soccorso, a unique example of local architecture, situated in a particularly impressive and spectacular position, on a promontory overlooking the sea from which it takes the name of the ‘punta del Soccorso’. The church is preceded by a typical churchyard surrounded by a double flight of stairs distributed in a semicircle and decorated with polychrome majolica tiles.
