Horny toad

What we always called these lizards as kids. More formally, it's a "horned lizard." Phrynosoma spp., probably P. hernandesi. Off the Virgin River Rim trail in southern Utah. This lizard has a red tinge to its body, which better blends in with the local soil. The ones in my area (western Nevada) tend to be more gray.
