Babysitters: Les Poutney, Les Taylor
Highams Park, London. Summer, 1950
Taken in the back garden at Beech Hall Road.
How English it all is - the garden path with the border and the roses, the cup of tea, the men in their suit and ties with the cuffed trousers, (even thought they'e visiting friends they've known for years) the (Royal brand?) pram with the summer canopy.
Les Poutney on the left. He grew up a few doors down from my mother on Seymour Road in Leyton and married a young woman she worked with - Jean.
The Leslie on the right is my Uncle Les, who was married to my mother's older sister, Pearl.
My oldest girl cousin Heather is in the pram.
