G-CIVZ at Newquay - 4 December 2020
Although the recent news that all three retro liveries will be preserved is good, the demise of the British Airways B747-400, hastened by the pandemic, was ultimately premature and inglorious. The dispersal of the fleet and the beginning of scrapping seemed to make all the more important a record in photographs of the very last days of most of the fleet. It was all the more sad then that this was as close I could get to G-CIVZ (with G-CIVF behind) on this wintry visit to Newquay. With dismantling under way, VZ is framed by VC10 ZA148 of the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre.
