Harmony of the Seas at Southampton (4) - 19 May 2016
At the time of posting, Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas is the largest passenger ship in the world. She arrived at Southampton from St Nazaire on 17 May 2016 and was due to undertake three short voyages before a final departure from the port to her summer season home port, Barcelona, on 29 May 2016.
It is not intended to sound immodest but I am very pleased with my pictures from today. The light was kind and my FZ200 never lets me down. Harmony of the Seas is seen at berth 101 with the Veolia waste disposal vessel Seagreen in attendance.
She does not immediately evoke the adjective 'attractive' but she certainly is impressive even when necessarily viewed from astern and is more attractive I think than, say, Norwegian Epic. Her visit sends to the cruise business an important message that Southampton can accept and handle well the world's largest ships.
