Due Sedili (B&N) - 23 February 2014
Sometimes, the simplest things catch your eye. You may have seen them before and not photographed them. You wait until the moment is right. There is often something poignant about empty seats in a social setting. You might imagine who has filled them in the past and who will do so in the future. This little scene is part of the 'outside' seating at the Tuscany restaurant of the Heathrow Marriott which is inexplicably closed at weekends. The 'outside' seating is, in fact, an open terrace inside the hotel but outside the main dining room. I wanted to see this, originally posted in colour, in black and white to see if that conveyed a different emphasis. Shot in available light.
