May roses (PIPs)

May roses (PIPs)
Somebody must have told the rosebushes it's May: all of a sudden ... roses everywhere!

Sometimes in places where you have to crane your neck to see them.

In the main image: Virgola's rose - so named because we planted it over our kitty's grave.
In the pips: potted rosebushes we rescued from a neighbour's yard after she died and her plants were abandoned. It took them a while to bounce back from being left without water for quite a while, but now they seem to be doing well. Ok, except the rose coloured roses that are way too tall because I am totally inept at trimming rosebushes ;)

Have a nice Sunday, everybody!

Thank you, Isabel. The trees have grown so much that this poor rosebush gets very little light, but the "spotlight" effect is very interesting.

oh but i really like the pick rose photo! so i think it's fine you didn't trim them. the stories of all your roses are quite sweet.

we have a yellow rose at a neighbor's house much like your yellow rose here in the main photo. and that bush is really happily blooming as well. it has a wonderful perfume. and i don't have to do anything but appreciate it! that's my favorite kind of plant - ha!

Except for trimming (which I understand requires knowing what you are doing and in fact is made out to sound almost like a kind of art form ...), in my experience roses seem pretty forgiving of inept gardeners (and I should know!)
Thanks for the visit and sorry for the late answer!

Hi, there, Pam! I like them a lot too, that's why I chose this one to honour our four legged friend when she left us.
