2013
2013 was a slightly busier year than 2012 for "photography," if cameraphone shots count. In reality I did very little real photography, instead saving some of the cameraphone shots that might be interesting to some people. Most of these are travel snaps. I plan, if possible, to do a lot more serious work in 2014, if time allows.

The reservoir isn't particularly big, as I took this from the dam and you can see the other end, where the swimming area is.

This is the dam. It isn't very large, as the reservoir is both small and shallow. Hopefully, the water is heavily treated before being put in the mains.

The lighting on this shot wasn't ideal. I hadn't used my Zeiss-Ikon Contina LK in a few years, and had never used it for Fall colors, so I had a few duds. One problem with bad lighting, too, is that it kills the colors.

I had better luck with this shot. Zeiss lenses are great for this sort of subject matter, so that's why I wanted to try it.

Sidliste projects can be ugly, or not. It can depend a lot on angles and perception.

This was more or less an accidental find. I wasn't expecting a bush to be this striking.

This is an alternate to Picture 11. I think I still like 11 better, but I decided to post this anyway.

I don't know a lot about this building, other than that it's a school. I don't know if it's a new build or a rebuild of an older Communist-era building. A lot of the Communist-era buildings in the Sidliste projects have been renovated and repainted to look new.

Some of the newer buildings in the Sidliste projects are conventional houses, even if they're multi-unit. These are some of the houses on the Southern outer edge of Haje, before you get into Milichovsky les.

This is on the border with Milichovsky les. The fence on the right is actually for a pasture, behind which is Milichovsky les.

This is technically within Prague, but is outside the sphere of development. The road I took this from essentially looks like it's out in the countryside.

I also took some Fall colors shots with my cameraphone, which is basically another first. I had less luck, though. Although I had some problems re-learning the Contina, cameraphones can't necessarily be "learned." They just have too many limitations and not enough manual controls. Besides, they're digital. :-) That's why post processing with Gimp (or another photo editor) is important. This is the most heavily edited of the batch.

I see this berry bushes around Haje every Fall, but I don't know what they are. Presumably, they're poisonous, as I don't recognize them as anything edible, but it would be interesting to know specifically what they are.

Again, I'll admit my ignorance of botany here. I don't know what kind of tree this is, but there are a fair number of them around Haje.

This was one of a number of experimental shots that I took of the sidewalk while walking with the cameraphone.
