And a little bit surprised to note the fact that you were taking photos in 1900.
Keep taking the monkey glands!

I'm happy that you had a good look!!
I think it is more a case of 'default to 1 jan 1900 if no date is known'!

It looks fabulous with snow on the ground. The blue sky and the light come together to make a great shot. I saw some Christmas cards with railway stations and engines on this year, and this would make a great one!!
Best wishes,
Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubThank you so much for your very kind visit, and such wonderful words.
Glad you like it.
Your comments about the light made me look further.. This one www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/46790500 was taken exactly a year later, in a spot a stone's throw from here... Same kind of weather conditions!
I think steam trains and mountains always look nice with snow!
Best Wishes,
Peter
Have once watched this video of a cab ride on this famous line:

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to volker_hmbg clubYour visit is most welcome. Thank you so much.
I am pleased you found it interesting.
The video is brilliant! I have been over that route so many times (look carefully at the picture of Prince hyperlinked above, and its comments..) But never before have I seen it on the computer at home!
Here is another picture of the same locomotive, but the other end this time..

Best Wishes,
Peter
volker_hmbg club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clublooks like you have been on the locomotive during the ride.
When watching the Ytube video again, a found a scene that made me smile. At Minffordd station I discovered a couple taking pictures and at first I thought that might be a Seward Johnson sculpture :-)
www.google.com/search?sa=N&q=seward+johnson+sculptures&tbm=isch&source=univ&client=firefox-b-d&ved=2ahUKEwid3-LZ8ZnnAhWaiFwKHduZBMc4ChCwBHoECAoQAQ&biw=1219&bih=750&dpr=1.25
At the end of the railway stop - suddendly both were standing there in just the same pose as before -really like Seward Johnson sculptures.
I made 2 screen shots of these funny moments and posted it here:

You can have fun in watching the video at 45:20 and 46:10 ; )

Of course the scene is exactly the same in 1900. The railway has been there a very long time!

Nicely composed shot and vibrant colours.

As you say, it is rare in the Porthmadog area, but nice to take advantage of!
