Algete street scene no. 10

Algete street scene no. 10
This is the highest point on our little hill and this tower houses the administrative office for our urbanización. I know in the US these bodies are infamous for their zealotry. But these people are benign in the main and don't have all that much to regulate as far as I can see.
At least the car and refuse bins provide added colour!

Erhard Bernstein, Stefani Wehner, Marco F. Delminho, micritter and 41 other people have particularly liked this photo

No, a 1970s build, as with most of this 'urbanización' where I live. It houses the offices of the resident's association.
Many thanks, Pierre!

Appearances can be deceptive. It is the office of the housing association for our gated community (although the gate is still there, it is no longer manned after a majority vote by the residents, about ten years ago, who obcviously didn't want to pay for it, )

The whole estate (including this administrative office building building) is no older than the late 1970s.

One of few photos where the refuse bins really add to the composition- as does the red colour of the car:-)

I quite like the look of this administration building............it's a little out-of-the-ordinary and a bit of a statement piece I suspect.

Not keep on the bins to be honest, but they have to go somewhere.......and at least there nice and colourful.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton club
Thank you, Keith.
These are the nearest bins to us and so I volunteer for the daily task as it adds 2,000 paces to my target! I agree they aren't ideally placed aesthetically but the colours tipped the balance between me taking a shot or walking past!

Believe it or not there's a group on here for bins:

A most unusual admin building but it is at least quite attractive unlike many I have seen. Bins in photos -what next - perhaps fences or benches !!!!

Regards and keep up the paces. Herb
Andy Rodker club has replied to Herb Riddle club
Thank you, Herb! Any doubt I had about taking the shot due to the bins and the car where they are, were largely dispelled because of the magnificent light really transforming all the colours; so I thought 'what the hell' and took the shot!

Très original. C'est bien les communes qui font l'effort de donner une autre vie à des bâtiments dont la destination initiale a changé.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Pearl club
Apparently this was built quite recently - at the same time as the rest of the estate - 1970s / 80s and it has always been the administrative offices for the estate!
I know the building does look much older!
Thank you, Pearl!

That is one beautiful building - and not the usual kind of building for council matters. It does look rather small to house council workers' offices.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre club
Well it's big enough Jenny. The estate is reasonably small!
You've seen the extent of it in that field shot where I put a note with 'we live here!' on it!
It's not the town of Algete itself with 40,000 inhabitants or so, just a small suburb of it with about 3,000' residents (3,001 including me!)
So it's not a 'town hall', just a few rooms were the few officials work.
Many thanks!.

I'm now in Cornwall - a complicated mix of ailments amongst the family and other stuff coming together at the wrong time and I was the only bod at hand, as it were. My oncologist had always said I couldn't travel but there is a new drug for people in my position (without an effective immune system) so I took it and I'm in Cornwall for two weeks - but without a car and without a driving licence thanks to brexit. So I'll take photos but of inland Cornwall around Saint Day, weather permitting. it's cats and dogs ight now and as I had forgotten what that was like it's quite refreshing really, for a change!
