Parish church at Zarzalejo. I just think it's a cute little church!
It's in the 'new' town of Zarzalejo Estación, about a mile and a half from the ancient village of Zarzalejo up the road. Behind is the hill of La Machota Chica, a great pile of granite boulders. All very near the great palace of EL Escorial which I always include in the same walk (not least beacause it is the nearest bus station from Madrid).
5 minutes earlier, the congregation, followed by the priest who locked up after all had left, filed out at the end of Sunday's midday mass.

Have a good day......:-)
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubYes; you half expect to see Lee van Cleef in this square, smoking a pipe and looking inscrutable as Clint Eastwood rides into town,
In fact, in black and white days, the nascent Spanish film industry did make westerns in the Sierra de Guadarrama here. Later it became big business but in Almeria, far to the south, where so-called spaghetti westerns were filmed in the 60s and 70s. Many people assume they must have been made in Italy.
But in reality it was simply that the Franco regime saw the possibility of a much-needed injection of foreign capital. So generous terms were offered to film production companies and one or two Italian producers duly took the bait. The rest is history ... Amigo!
