Andy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubPlease read all my notes a few shots back on my first upload of this place. It will give you the answers. Plus the fact that it was initially intended as a TB isolation hospital as it was 1) at that time well outside the built-up centre of the city and 2) it is on a rise and gets much in the way of fresh breezes off the mountains (important in the furnace that is summer in Madrid ... not so sure about the freezing winter months though ... and Madrid gets MUCH colder than England in most winters).
Looking at it's history as an isolation hospital, it was probably very fit for purpose!
