Ayllon, Segovia Province. Plaza Mayor.

Ayllon, Segovia Province. Plaza Mayor.
I really liked this town. Lots of interesting back streets and curious corners, nooks and crannies. It was September 19, but look at the temperature (in red on the left); I guess this would be approx 95F!

Roger (Grisly), MARCEL, Diane Putnam, micritter and 33 other people have particularly liked this photo

Un peu plus de nuages avec cette température seraient les bienvenus, (lol) et des petites ruelles bien ombrées aussi pour moi !

The temperature would explain why everyone seems to be relaxing in the shadows! It looks like a lovely place to avoid the hottest parts of the day in, and maybe have a beer or three.

I like the smooching couple on the right!

But it's a _dry_ heat... (a cliché to be sure)...

As I've commented before, tho, it's easy to see why the _conquistadores_ felt right at home in what's now the southwest US (and adjacent Mexico)!

Yes, Steve ... a cliche but true!
I presume you mean that they fell in love with the architecture and towns of the area due to the similarities with their homeland?

Temp conversion correct (of course ) -- but a dry heat is so very different (like here in North Carolina) than the same temp in Florida (very humid making it feel much hotter).
Nice compo ..

I quite agree. It was very tolerable, Peggy!
The conversion WAS a guess but I think I have just about worked it out now. I know 22C is a very pleasant 70F and that 37.something = 100F. Also that 40 degrees below is the same in both!
I was pleased to have found an outside clock at last!
All best wishes

This was a particularly pleasing town and I hope we can return one day soon. The Sunday roasts are famous here (lamb, suckling pig or kid) and I can rememebr our restaurant meal back in 2013 with some clarity!
Many thanks, Roger and for your visit! Much appreciated!
