Grassi Lakes Waterfall
These are a few more photos from our 2014 visit to the Canadian Rockies and our hike at Grassi Lakes near Canmore. This is the Grassi Lakes Waterfall, visible from the trail but impossible to approach any nearer.

As lovely as that waterfall is, your first inset is an easy favorite with that incredible water...it's just out of this world beautiful!!!!! I am a total sucker for dappled light, and here it is on that lovely water...just can't get better! The bg is also beautiful too. What a shot! :)
Your other insets are fantastic too...the rock climber...what a great angle!! And the flowers, those are really beautiful and such fun to photograph with their curling petals. :)
I'd mentioned my turkey picture but heh...I totally forgot it was Saturday so I'll have to wait and post it tomorrow, sorry for the tease! :D
Your description of the Badlands has me drooling. Beautiful and bighorns AND bison too? WOW. Just WOW!!! How wonderful that you got the chance to see this place!
SOOOO much driving, that had to be so brutal. Steve and I have driven 8 hrs from SF to Oregon a number of times but that's not 15 straight hours...gads that's rough. But sounds like you guys will get some time to kick back and enjoy yourselves now that the wedding is over, so that's good.
I can understand your aversion to air travel. Our trip to France almost exactly a year ago today was a total nightmare in so many regards, but one of the worst aspects was the flights... the people dealing with security/passports/etc were, on a number of occasions, ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. Rude, snarky, totally out of line, Steve does NOT handle this behavior well and so then things went even worse. The lines too...it was awful. I've done my share of flying, including international and without question, this trip was abysmally worse than anything I've ever encountered. In fact, I made the decision that I will NEVER do international travel again. I may change my mind on this but I don't know...it was SO TERRIBLE. Oh, and to be treated as if we are terrorists at every checking area...it's not right. The disrespect was mind-blowing. Don't know when the last time was that you flew international but it had been about 10 years for us and OMG we were not prepared AT ALL.
P.S. I'm glad you liked my er...ugly duck :D
I feel fresh just to look at it.
Happy Easter to you and all the Family.
Great photo and fantastic PiPs, Ron!
