Restrepia flosculata
I suppose that in posting this shot, we've gone from the sublime to the bizarre. Restrepia flosculata is from Colombia and Ecuador and is one of the more bizarre orchids I grow. The plant is around eight inches tall and the flowers and the flowers a half to three-quarters of an inch tall. They grow on the back of the leaves and when this flowered recently I did not even realize it was flowering. The Restrepias are all from Central and South America, are related to Masdevallia and Pleurothallis and all have similar-looking flowers.
