Lepanthes contingens

Lepanthes contingens
This species is from Ecuador, like many others I grow, and belongs to a group of orchids with tiny but very intricate and colorful flowers/ Most of them, and this species is no exception, continue to produce flowers over a very long period of time. Each leaf can produce new flower spikes as long as it is alive and each flower spike produces many flowers, one or two at a time. This is pendant and is best grown mounted. It also has leaves that are covered with fine hairs, though those are not very visible in the photo. Thanks to Lepanthes2010 for the correct ID.
