Greetings from Silverdale

Greetings from Silverdale
A week’s break in north Lancashire allows me to visit some places that we have not been to for some years now. This is the seaside area known as Silverdale and one might imagine how that name was derived. We have just finished our picnic here and are looking down Morcambe Bay over the treacherous Walton Sands which houses the Kent Channel. The tall buildings in the distance is the Heysham Nuclear Power station.
Our path continues between the narrow walled path on the left into the headland trees and beyond.

Enjoy full screen and have a good week.

Nice to see you here again Sarah. Yes these sands are most dangerous indeed with many fatalities in the not too distant past due to quick-sands and the very fast rising tide. Nice to see from here though.

Good to be back here in Ipernity land Keith. I count myself lucky that I have still managed to get away in these turbulent times. This being our second holiday this year with at least a couple more to come. Not so very far away at only an hour or so but a world away in countryside difference. Here you see one of three days of short coastal walks. We were lucky with the weather, especially on this day. Vey pleased that you liked this.
