Glen Sannox view

Glen Sannox view
Glen Sannox, here on the Island of Arran in Scotland is not for the squeamish. Majestic, mist shrouded peaks seem to close in on you as you walk this obvious glacial valley with only the sound of a distant eagle or a cuckoo for company. Just here we have a soft tree to calm us down though. The fencing around it gives us a clue to the history of this valley with its many small mines, mining for barytes amongst other rare minerals. Barite is the main ore of the element barium!

A fine shot Herb, love the layer effect of the different colors/light on the hills. The single tree adds much to a lonely looking place. Thanks for the interesting notes.

Have a good day, Doug

My pleasure to please you here Doug. I'm a little surprised that this has raised no more comments than yours. Perhaps that's Ipernity for you!
Cheers my friend, Herb

I know what you mean Herb. A few weeks ago I tried a little experiment by re-posting an image that like yours had very view comments. The result was that, for whatever reason it received very many more comments than the original. Who knows why....

All the best, Doug
