My first try with the new chip that was put in the camera to replace the broken usb.
20220304 120045small

I was sent a QHY183M mono chip not the QHY183C Colour chip caused all sorts of problems in the end this camera getting found is now know as QHY183M but takes coloured photos. I lost a whole lot of time with the camera Changes and setting up. This is in effect only 33 shots But happy the way it came out.

As you can imagine there is a lot that can go wrong and it all did trying to get the complicated program set up in the cold and dark. I chose to go to bed then set up in the day time. Next hiccup last night was the focuser all the data for that was lost and it had to be set up. So it was not a full night but one that in the end worked well.

This was an easy target as it would show straight away if it worked as it should happy top say it did perfectly. the data is all the colour camera not the mono camera but as you can see it did work, but back into rains... Many thanks.

Always great to see your deep-space shots Steve. As George says, glad it has finally been sorted, lets hope it stays that way.

Cheers. Herb

It was held back by me trying to finish the Milky way and trying to get Cloud free night this time of year. I can live with the name change but IF I plan on selling it I have been sent the Right Chip"I am Told" that would have to be put in the camera. Its a Bit like the Camera being Called D800 but you get sent the chip for D800E camera has not physically changed it has just been given a wrong name. M is a Mono But the shot above is far from a mono.

just another curve ball we get thrown. Many thanks glad that the shot get appreciated for what the are.

Nick I hope you come back to this if you do read my reply to Herb I was worried just how the Chip would effect the Shot. Thankfully in does not at all but the name of the Camera as far as the computer has changed. Sadly this is not run old school this is all run by computers... Hope the two help you to understand.
