Taro Root
This is Taro Root (Colocasia esculenta) I bought it at our local supermarket today for the Macro Monday project with the title: "The inside of a vegetable". Until today I had never seen nor known of this plant.
This root is especially interesting, because it is world-wide well known and widely used as a starchy vegetable like we use potatoes. It is said to be native to India, but grown also in China, many other Asian countries plus Nigeria, Ghana and New Guinea.
