Thanks for the visit, Jörg. Very young alligators have yellow stripes. This alligator is a few years old and is partly yellow. Older alligators become dark-colored. I especially like the way the yellow color is displayed in the sunlight.

Thanks a lot, Doug. They are fairly common in rivers and lakes here. It is a bad idea to go swimming.
