I'm very happy that ipernity is the People’s Choice Winner in the Photo Sharing category of the Mashable 2nd Annual Open Web Award (the Blogger’s Choice Winner is flickr, though). I didn't sleep last night. Went to bed in the morning at 05:30 and raised at 07:00 without any sleep in between. I did however upload the pics I took last weekend in Bremerhaven. I should have deleted the 12 Saturday pics rather than uploading them, because I think they're all exceptionally boring. I haven't blogged for 14 days (day#21 was last), and I don't think I'll become a regular blogger, but today I have more flickr ipernity comparison stuff on my mind to put somewhere. The "Edit this tag" feature is broken. If I rename a tag, I get the error message "Why the hell did you click on this link? ;-)". But the tag actually IS renamed. It is, however, deleted from the tag list . That's why rumpelfoto says "2 docs" in the tag list, but when you click on it, you get 30. Today I gave three of my albums a new name: "Some old photos" (was: "Photos I have on flickr, too") "More old photos" (was: "Photos I have lowres on flickr") "New photos shot before day#0" (was: "Photos I don't have on flickr") "New photos shot after day#0" (not renamed) This has two benefits: 1. I found a bug today: If I click in All is well on "Uploaded on November 7, 2008", then I get the message "We couldn't find any doc for this date...". And in fact, it appears in Archives / Uploaded / 2008 / november / 6 , not 7. There, of course, it also says "Uploaded on November 7, 2008" among the November, 6th items. Bug! Bug! flickr allows pro members to upload videos of up to 90s length and up to 150 MB in size, but other members can't download the original (and you can't provide them a static link, either). On ipernity anything can be uploaded even to free accounts (including videos) and the originals can be downloaded from the page if either you or the visitor (or both) are pro. A one of my contacts there was "thanking the US population for the great birthday present" and I commented "The day would be perfect if California's Prop 8 hadn't passed". Yesterday I uploaded the bat ladybird , because I wanted to use the larva as my member picture. Today I uploaded pillows and me , because I wanted to place a member tag.
