Where's the summer gone

Well on the bright side, should keep the electric bill down!

It means more on the electric bill Gracie - we don't have a/c here - no need for it. If it's hot, then all windows are open, if it's cold, then the oven is at full stretch cooking warming stews etc and maybe the fire on.

No A/C?? I'd die! Really don't know how Mandi deals with it, winds or not. Especially when they're not! Do you have a heating system besides the fireplace? I guess your temperatures don't swing as dramatically as ours do..

It's rare to find a/c in a house in Britain - our temperatures very rarely go high enough to require one. Now we do have central heating in a lot of houses to warm us up during our winters, but I'm not one of those. My house is way too big to be able to afford warming the whole house. I have an open fire to warm up my lounge or a halogen heater for really cold days.

Some summer! I'm totally fed up of grey cloud and drizzle.
