Neil Diamond's last successful release on the Bang label was "Kentucky Woman". The single produced by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich reached number twenty-two in 1967. According to experts this is a rare stereo issue.
British band Deep Purple's (Ritchie Blackmore, Rod Evans, Ian Price, Nicky Simper and Jon Lord) "Kentucky Woman" is from the 1968 album "The Book Of Taliesyn". The single hit Billboard's top forty and is an edited version of this. Deep Purple was once listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe's loudest band".
