This is composer Martha Sharp's version of "Single Girl" from her 1973 album "Anywoman". Often her surname is spelled with an extra "e" at the end. Martha also wrote the Bobby Vee hit "Come Back When You Grow Up".
Backup singer on the Percy Sledge hit "When A Man Loves A Woman" Sandy Posey peaked at number twelve on Billboard in 1966 with "Single Girl". Two years later Sandy married the Elvis tribute artist Elvis Wade, Wade Cummins. Sandy actually shared the stage with Elvis Presley during a 1969 Las Vegas appearance.
