Coffee 7/50

Coffee 7/50
Paper cups

A year ago I posted on this same topic. I was exited and happy to find out there is a Finnish company that had started to manufacture plastic free paper cups. This year I come up with even better news. A big Italian company has started to use those plastic free paper cups on their vending machines worldwide.

The paper cups on the image unfortunately are not those. I suppose it will take at least a year or two before such fully biodegradable and recyclable paper cups becomes common and available at wholesale markets and stores.

Such actions and the like, should be implemented much more quickly. The companies - and also we humans give us time, which nature may not have anymore...

I agree. And as individuals we can try to implement the change immediately.

It depends. For example selling coffee in trains has to rely on disposable (and recyclable) materials, or choose not to serve coffee and food in the trains at all. I think it would not be a very good solution to collect and wash dishes on the train.

Or then drinks and food is served only to customers who have their own dishes with them =D

One of these days people will be asked to come with their own cups... I hate coffee in plastic or paper cups, espresso does not taste the same on them (I only drink coffee if espresso).

That would be an ideal solution. Folding army cups and dishes as an requirement to all passengers in trains and buses... =D

It's wrong. It's totally and utterly wrong. It doesn't do justice to the coffee! It is indecent to run around with cofee in your hand! To enjoy coffee you have to sit down and use a decent cup! There is absolutely no sense in drinking coffee on the run. You can't enjoy it at all. Coffee means an escape from busy life, not being even more busy doing two things at once.

I totally agree!

Finally stop rushing through the station with plastic cups and spilling coffee on me! :)

I slightly disagree. If I got to choose to have my cup of coffee either in crowded and noisy cafeteria or railway station lobby, or to take it away and enjoy it in tranquil and lovely park outside, then I chose latter ;-)

Better to do it in Finnish style, and reserve coffee breaks into timetable =)

ok, that's an argument ;-)
What I wanted to point at is that struggle for self-optimisation, the multi-tasking attempts - drinking coffee while walking, checking mails while talking - in the long run it's an devaluation of all your actions, they become random and interchangeable.

On that I agree 100% =)

Ups! The link doesn't work. I think you mean this one? packagingeurope.com/lavazza-sustainable-cup
A great idea and good contribution to environmental protection, even if I can agree with Boarischa. I drink my tea only while spending time sitting at a nice table with
fine porcelain. ;-)))

Thanks for the notice =) I obviously forgot to add the URL on the HTML tag.

I choose takeaway, if there is an option to have it some more tranquil place than noisy and crowded cafeteria ;-) But obviously the best solution is to find a tranquil and lovely cafe where one can sit down and relax.
