Mr. Bear

Mr. Bear
This big guy wandered into our yard the other day and enjoyed some apples from our tree. We wondered why our apple tree had so many broken branches this summer. Usually the deer aren't that hard on it. Now I think we know why.

You can also see a video of him here: Bear and the Apple Tree

Merci, Dan. I really don't know much about black bears. At least he wasn't aggressive towards me that day and just looked over and smiled. :)

Amazing... and I understand why you wrote me once you didn't dare going out at night... Recently I read an article about bears not being afraid of men anymore, it says that bears understood men have become less dangerous. Solution? ....
But for you not easy if now even in daytime they sneak around.
Excelent video.

Yes, I remember, Isabel, and the night before I went out to photograph the meteor shower but it was so dark that I got scared and came back in lol. Who knows, maybe he was out there then too. This is my second meeting with a bear in my life. It's an interesting occurrence and makes you think. I did a search and found this information: crystalclearintuition.com/bear-meaning

I will read this carefully, thanks for sharing. I met a bear on the beach in Canada at nightfall, I didn't move and he just passed. I was not affraid but I am never affraid of anything... except cats and other felines... as you know!

These are some of the most amazing photos I have seen. The bear is planning ahead for the winter, I suppose. Maybe you can sneak out and get a few to make applesauce.

Wow! Very impressive!
I once met a brown bear in Algonquin National Park in Canada. He was pretty close. He saw me too, but fortunately he was busy fishing at the river. :-)

When I want to see bears now, I visit the Bear Park in my hometown ;-)

Great images, Karen. I'm happy having night visits by kangaroos, but a black bear is in a different league!

Oh, a kangaroo must be something to see.

The thought of them hopping around here is funny. :D

Caught in the act. :)
At the end of the video, you'd like to think that he feels he's being watched,
or that he's making sure you've duly admired his action. :))
Fantastic shots and clip, Karen!

Amazing shots of this beautiful bear and a great video Karen. It must be wonderful watching him but quite scary being so close I would imagine.

He is certainly cheeky!

Have a good week

Thank you, Carol. I was far enough away and right by the house so I wasn't worried.

As long as he doesn't learn how to do this I'm okay:
