"GB" stickers

I recently found these at the back of my filing cabinet. Pity I'll probably never be able to use them. (The UK government changed our car stickers to "UK" a couple of years ago, for no good reason.)
"Sealink Stena Line" was the brand used by cross channel ferries from 1984. It changed to "Stena Sealink Line" a few years later. These stickers are ~40 years old!

A recently purchased N gauge model of Germany's first high speed train.
On curved track the distance between the two cars increases and the long wheelbase bogies protrude quite noticeably.

Duvel "magritte" beer

Today, 21st November 2023, is the 125th anniversary of the birth of René Magritte, the Belgian surrealist painter. To celebrate I've opened the bottle of Duvel "magritte" special edition beer I bought in Belgium this summer.

The works to create a wetland (to clean up one of the tributaries of the Hogsmill river) are more substantial than I had expected. I assume the concrete castings are supports for a foot bridge over the diverted river.

This was built to convert local waste into electricity for street lights and the nearby public baths. It now houses a circus school.
The text above the door reads "Vestry of St Leonard Shoreditch Electric Light Station". The text above the first floor window reads "E Pulvere Lux et Vis" ("from dust, light and power").

Mists and mellow fruitfulness

I was inspired by "still life" paintings to have a go at photographing some of my home grown apples and medlars, with a glass of home made damson gin.
