Friday 7 June 2024 (0942) – Charles Burrell & Sons Limited manufactured agricultural machinery, traction engines and steam vehicles in Thetford until the company closed in 1928. The business operated in Minstergate and a museum is housed in one of the former workshop buildings part of which can be seen on the right. Today a wedding was to take place and a Burrell traction engine was being prepared as part of the ceremony. Coach Services Limited YX67 VGL, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D which had been new to Johnsons, Henley-in-Arden in October 2017, was passing by on the way to the bus station when working on Town Circular service 83.

Friday 7 June 2024 (1028) – Thetford bus station. Konectbus 646 (LX09 FCD) seen arriving at Thetford bus station from Watton on service 81. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident that had been new to London General (E127) in July 2009. Coach Services Limited had worked service 81 for a number of years and a number of their vehicles dominate the scene. They are from left to right: BU16 OZO, an MCV Evolution bodied Volvo B8RLE new in July 2026 BJ11 EAX, a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new to Tower Transit (VN36146) in June 2011 BN61 MWZ, , a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new to Tower Transit (VN37952) in December YT09 YHM, an Optare Omnidekka bodied Scania N270UD that had been new to Nottingham City Transport as their 970 new in May 2009. The Omnidekka design was created by East Lancashire Coachbuilders which passed to Optare in October 2008.

Left to right: CS23 BUS, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D new in May MMC 2023, branded for the Brandon-Thetford-Bury St. Edmunds service 84 and 86. HF05 HXE, a Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE new in May 2005 to Wilts and Dorset. PN06 KJZ, a Plaxton Paragon bodied Volvo B12B new in March 2006 to Alfa. Euxton.

Friday 7 June 2024 (0919) – Thetford bus station Coach Services Limited CS63 BUS working service 86 to Bury St Edmunds which had originated in Brandon. It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new in October 2013. Ambassador Travel 308 (BV72 XGM) working the 0740 National Express service 727 from Great Yarmouth to Stansted Airport. This is the only ‘short’ trip on service 727. The other seven trips run through to Heathrow Airport. It is a Caetano Levante III bodied Scania K410 new in February 2023.

Friday 7 June 2024 (0930) – Coach Services Limited YT09 YHM seen leaving Thetford bus station bound for Brandon on service 86 which had departed West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St. Edmunds at 0855. It is an Optare Omnidekka bodied Scania N270UD that had been new to Nottingham City Transport as their 965 new in May 2009. The Omnidekka design was created by East Lancashire Coachbuilders which passed to Optare in October 2008.

It is an Optare Metrodecker one of two such buses (with YJ23 EKN) delivered on Friday 24 March 2023. Powered by Mercedes-Benz engines these integral buses were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. The order was cancelled in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Plaxton Panther bodied Volvo B10M UJL 270 of Sleafordian Coaches of Sleaford, Lincolnshire on a day excursion from the Sleaford area.

Tuesday 28 August 2012 (1433) – Sleafordian Coaches of Sleaford, Lincolnshire UJL 270, a Plaxton Panther bodied Volvo B10M, seen at Horning, Norfolk whilst its passengers took a river trip on the ‘Southern Comfort’ Mississippi paddle boat.
