Thursday 21 March 2024 (1217) – First Eastern Counties Buses 36901 (YN69 XZD), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 City bodied Scania N250UD seen in Peterborough bus station having just arrived spot on time (1217) as the 0900 service B from Norwich. It would return to Norwich as the 1240 service C on which I travelled to Guyhirn. This vehicle was the first of the 19 such buses delivered in late 2019 and allocated to King’s Lynn garage for the upgraded Norwich to Peterborough ‘excel’ service. 36901 arrived in November 2019 with the others arriving the following month.

Thursday 21 March 2024 (1149) – First Eastern Counties Buses 36904 (YN69 XZH), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 City bodied Scania N250UD new in December 2019, seen in Peterborough bus station having just arrived spot on time (1147) as the 0840 service C from Norwich. I had travelled from Wisbech (1105) on this bus which would return to Norwich as the 1210 service B. The driver stayed with the bus during the 23 minute stay at Peterborough allowing passengers to board for that return trip.

Thursday 21 March 2024 (1221) – Peterborough bus station seen from the southern end. The passenger area is located on a central island linked by a bridge from Queensgate Shopping Centre (on the right – the glass of the bridge reflecting and blending with the background sky). At ground level pedestrian access is via road crossings. Stagecoach East is the prominent local operator in the city and their buses load at stands on either side of the central island. Delaine Buses uses stands on the left of the island and National Express services at the far end on the right. First Eastern Counties uses the first stand on the left for their ‘excel’ service to Norwich. Since these services are scheduled to arrive at 17 minutes past the hour (with that bus departing at 40 minutes past the hour) and 47 minutes past the hour (with that bus departing at 10 minutes past the hour), there are only short periods of time when the stand remains vacant. On stand is 36901 (YN69 XZD) which was the first of the 19 Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 City bodied Scania N250UDs delivered in late 2019.

Thursday 21 March 2024 (1158) – National Express Limited 392 (BV19 XPT) seen in Peterborough bus station just after arriving as the 0810 service 788 from Heathrow Terminal 5. It is a Caetano Levante bodied Scania K360 new in June 2019 to Chalfont, Southall.

Thursday 21 March 2024 (1205) – Three quite large paintless and rusty marks on the side of National Express Limited 392 (BV19 XPT), a Caetano Levante bodied Scania K360 new in June 2019 to Chalfont, Southall. It was seen in Peterborough bus station having arrived as the 0810 service 788 from Heathrow Terminal 5.

Thursday 21 March 2024 (1159) – National Express Limited 392 (BV19 XPT) seen in Peterborough bus station just after arriving as the 0810 service 788 from Heathrow Terminal 5. It is a Caetano Levante bodied Scania K360 new in June 2019 to Chalfont, Southall.
