There isn't any fence in the desert. But dromedarys have the bad habit to walk kilometres away, looking for food. Therefore their legs are fettered a little bit while camping. ~~~~~ In der Wüste gibt es keine Zäune. Congratulations! ~~~~~ In der späten Freitagnacht am 31. Januar 2015 - korrekt am frühen Samstagmorgen um 05:11:54 Uhr - erreichten diese drei Teilnehmer das Ziel in Oggau (Burgenland, Österreich). Today during the hunt for a motive for The Sunday Challenge. Our mission: "Make an abstract picture sooc and no macro!" (This picture was a by-catch. A commonplace object that seldom gets attention photographically.) ~~~~~ Heute auf der Jagd nach einem Motiv für die Sunday Challenge. Puu-Vallila ('Wooden Vallila') is a district of Helsinki (Finland). Traditional wooden houses from the years 1910-1927 are situated there. In the 19th century, such wooden houses still characterised the cityscape of Helsinki. Puu-Vallila is one of the few areas where this wooden house milieu has remained unchanged until today. (Captured during a visit 3 weeks ago). ~~~~~ Puu-Vallila ('Holz-Vallila') ist ein Stadtteil von Helsinki (Finnland). Dort stehen traditionelle Holzhäuser aus den Jahren 1910–1927. Noch im 19. Jahrhundert hatten solche Holzhäuser das Stadtbild von Helsinki geprägt. Puu-Vallila ist eines der wenigen Gebiete, wo dieses Holzhaus-Milieu bis heute unverändert erhalten ist. (Aufgenommen bei einem Besuch vor 3 Wochen.) ~~~~~

Inside the Katajanokka Jail in Helsinki - now a Best Western Hotel . (Upper floor) The former Southern Finland County Jail continued to serve as a prison until 2002. After that, it was converted into a hotel. The exterior of the building remained unchanged, as did the central corridor of the prison shown here and many other historically meaningful details. ~~~~~ Im Katajanokka-Gefängnis in Helsinki - heute ein Best Western Hotel . (Oberer Flur) Das ehemalige Bezirksgefängnis Südfinnlands diente noch bis 2002 als Gefängnis. Danach wurde es in ein Hotel umgewandelt. Das Äußere des Gebäudes blieb unverändert, ebenso wie der hier gezeigte zentrale Korridor des Gefängnisses und viele andere, historisch bedeutsame Details. ~~~~~
