Ancient Peonies! These are from the garden. They were planted during the great depression in the 1930's. For 40 years they were choked out by weeds until the gardens were cleaned up and they could thrive again. Some have been split and moved. Peonies can live to be over a 100 years old. It amazes me something so fragile can endure so long.
