Lincoln's Inn

The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn is an unincorporated association of students, barristers and judges and is one of the four Inns of Court.
It has been in continuous existence for over 600 years.
The Inn is dedicated to the qualification, training and development of our members at all stages of their legal careers, in a collegiate and inclusive environment
Lincoln's Inn undercroft
The undercroft was a place of burial, on one of the walls, there is a map with the names of all those interred here...
In the 18th century the undercroft became a place for people to leave their unwanted babies. The records of the Inn show payments to people to care for the abandoned children, who would usually be given the surname ‘Lincoln’.

Purfleet memorial
Memorial to the 26 soldiers from Purfleet who were lost at sea during 1st World War. A row of saluting Tommy sihouettes face the Thames.
