At one of my favorite hang-outs: West Quoddy Head Lighthouse ... they may not know it, but they are very nearly standing on the easternmost mainland spot in the U.S., which is actually down to their left. (Updated at the suggestion of Peter_Private_Box . )

E. Adam G., Marco F. Delminho, Nora Caracci, Karp Panta and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

Hi Wally

Another interesting composition here! But, I wonder...
Are those islands not even further east, and still part of the United states..
Maybe they are thinking the same!!

Best Wishes, HFF, and a good weekend

OK, so I looked up this spot on GoogleEarth: where they are standing is 66&57'01.00"W ... down and to their left, at the base of a fenced-off cliff, on the mainland, is 66&56'59.14"W ... the far side of the closer island is 66&56'57.67"W ... the far island is Sail Rock, and the far side of that is 66&56'49.03"W.
I don't know how far a second ( " ) of longitude is at this latitude (44.5 degrees) ... so I'll guess they are 30 meters away on the mainland and maybe 600 meters distant from the far side of Sail Rock.
(Yup, a certain tendency toward obsessive exactitude comes into play.)

Best Wishes, HFF, and a good weekend ...

Hi Sarah !!
This is way north and way east and way colder than where you are. Y'all are much warmer, and except for lobsters and blueberry pie, got better vittles. The hurricane and nor'easters part balances out.

... yes, it is part of a little triplet series "people leaning on fences" ... but I had noticed some previous negative comments in the HFF Group about posting more than one shot per week; so even though it was an appropriate to the topic, I did not post it there ...
(maybe I still will do so ! ) ...
