Old chimney, Redruth, Cornwall.

Old chimney, Redruth, Cornwall.
Pednandrea Stack.
Near the centre of town, an attractive reminder of an unnactrative industry. It seems that this was part of one of the major mines in the region.

It appears that in addition to the usual tin, copper and arsenic of the area, uranium was also mined.
Best on large to admire the stonework in the chimney.

Recognise this one, Andy. A fabulous leading line.
Thanks for the comments made on my Pakistan/ Central Asia mountain photos. It is my favourite part of the world, and I am a mad reader of all manner of historical travel and adventure books on the area. Hope you have shaken off all the horrors of your appalling COVID experience.
All the best…Diana

Thank you, Diana. Yes, an endlessly fascinating part of the world! Thank you too for your concern about my health. I'm pleased to say that I have made great strides, especially in the recovery of walking again and in speaking. When I left hospital in August of last year I could do neither and I have worked long and hard to get some ability back with both. Next step, walking in the mountains again!

A very impressive looking chimney...........it reminds me of a telescope but I expect it does not collapse down like one :-))

A very well composed shot sir...........the wall makes a great leading line. The whole scene looks wonderful in the sunshine.

Definitely worth viewing large as you suggest.

Pleased you appreciate my trying for a decent composition, Keith! It took some doing as my shadow kept creeping in and I had to do a rather strange body contortion to avoid this - much to the consternation of an old lady walking her dog behind me!

It's a lovely reminder of the past isn't it? It's still in good condition and the stonework is really beautiful. I see you're still i Cornwall - I do hope it isn't because of your dad's situation or your mum's. Are you staying here for Christmas?

Well, my dad's position is not so good and so i'm still in Cornwall. Thank you, Jenny, yes it is a fine chimney!

Thank you, Roger. An old girlfriend lived nearby so this place has extra resonance for me!
