Norman Hill overflow

Norman Hill overflow
Walking around some of my local reservoirs brings me to this, the outlet overflow from the Norman Hill reservoir. More water in here than usual after many weeks of continues rains.

Enjoy the day

And here they will cut part of water supply, 70% cut for agriculture and 15% for people, and we will pay fines if our water consumption is above normal according to the number of persons in each house...
Your photo is a fine one and I envy your water bounty, even if floods are not easy to live.

Thanks for this Isabel. On my trips to Portugal I have envied your blue skies and warmth but I must admit that I would not like your droughts, fires and super-hot temperatures. In that, our immense amount of rain here now, although most uncomfortable has its upside. Our fields are not arid but presently many are under-water. In that -bring back the old days where our weather was a much better mix.

HWW, enjoy the day. Herb

It was only 3.6 miles as it was so cold. This Norman Hill Res - I had to climb a wicked gate to get to and back to the main lane again. Otherwise its an excellent area with a good blue-bell wood.

A HWW to you Herb,.. I always find dams and waterways pleasant to stroll around,..Ladybower - Derwent and also Rivelin where I spent a lot of my youth,.. your map shows plenty of choice of reservoir walking too ...Cheers'' from Dj.

Hi Dave. Like you we do like reservoirs and their lanes, mostly because the lanes are dryer than the surrounding fields and paths. The views are invariably good too. A couple of these reservoirs you cannot get round. See my reply to Toz.

Hope you are well. HWW, enjoy the week. Herb

Water is precious resource, CA is always in need of more, Last year we had enough rain, and this year too it will be enough, specially in Northern CA it will be in form of ice which will later be liberated

HWW Best wishes

An impressive looking overflow system Herb.............you've captured the water flow perfectly and the details in the brickwork are excellent.

Always good places to explore Keith. This looks and sounds good. You used to freely walk to the reservoir above but now a giant gate protects it. Glad you liked it.

Cheers. Herb

I'm not surprised there is more water than usual Herb and I'm not surprised either that you have captured the scene so well.

Good evening, Rosa.
