Its funny really, even though I walk often up hills and in warmth I never ever take a drink with me. I simply don't thirst and never knowigly feel the effects of dehydration.

Herb you cant overstate those steps but worth the climb love seeing the Old town still there, HFF you have a good weekend.

I thought it was well worth it but Eileen didn't. The old town here and further afield was pretty interesting but it looked a bit seedy in places.

A fascinating shot Herb.................the architecture looks like it's been put together piecemeal, with little planning............but it seems to work very well. Those steps look far too steep though!

Like a lot of French towns and cities, much of the buildings and street layouts are very old. as you say, one wonders about these concrete walls but we have them too. At the top of the steps there was a road with cars parked so, some other routes were possible.
