Alaskan mountains from the 'Inside Passage'

Alaskan mountains from the 'Inside Passage'
One of the most beautiful waterways in the World with its many views of high mountains were somewhat marred by the very typical wet and misty weather on this trip. Here we see a brief glimpse of the high wild mountains as we enter Glacier Bay.
Best viewed full size.

Herb almost reminds me of the very old Japanese painting. Been many years since I have seen any thing like this.

I know what you mean Steve. I used to see big posters of things like this in cafe's etc but that's rare nowadays. A little like the Alps here but less signs of man.

Hi Keith, good to see you again and very happy that you enjoyed this. Hardly a glimpse of the sun here but like you I thought I was fortunate to see this for a few moments.

love these mountains - you've caught them beautifully. funny, i live in the northwest corner of the states, but never have ventured up to Alaska. i think i like to stay warmer than that, ha! gald you went and could show me what i'm missing.

i'd be honored to have this in my group 'naturey crap - crappy nature' (name explained on group page) - if you feel like it.

Hi Raingirl, I imagine you are like many people who live in NW England and never venture to the North of Scotland. Delighted to demonstrate what you are missing. I even have an album called Canada and Alaska if you want to see more. Very interesting group and group intro you have. I pressed the accept button to put my picture in but its not there...strange! Maybe another invite for the picture req or I may join too but somehow it runs into the face of my manta of me being a landscape photographer hobbyist, but.... I will certainly consider it further. It does suit this picture though!

Hi Herb,
Ah, and I've actually been to the North of Scotland! Life is funny sometimes. I will check out your Canada and Alaska albums. Real mountains are like my religion.

Glad you like the group. Sorry for the delay in getting your photo into the group. I have the group set with me needing to approve the photos (even if I have 'suggested it' - the program isn't that sophisticated), and sometimes it takes me a few days to get to it as i can't do it on my phone. (You do NOT have to join the group unless you want to. Your photo still shows there.) You should see your photo in the group now.

Have a good week!

... ah, I just cruised your "Canada and Alaska" album ... brings back memories: that Inside Passage trip is a life-long memory-maker ...

Thanks for this Wally. Nice that you cruised my album and it brought back memories. For us, we only had two weeks, it was a roller-coaster of a trip. The Alaska cruise, quite different from the Rocky mountain tour. Both fantastic in their own way with only wishes fro better weather in Alaska. As seen here, I had to push to make decent landscape photos in Alaska but my Lake Louise -well...

Best Wishes my friend, Herb
