This morning on my walk with the dogs, I spotted these two birds swimming around the pond. I built this wooden nesting box many years ago specifically to attract wood ducks.

We've had several days of cold weather here. The surface of the pond is frozen, but Rosie wisely stays close to shore.

The beaver has been making improvements to the spillway. It is higher than it was and reinforced with sticks.

Caught looking into my "critter cam" one night. Probably a raccoon; definitely not a beaver.

Possibly the same bird as in the previous photo. I'm not sure of the identification of either photo.
This one was perfectly posed between me and the oak tree when I first saw it. It flew away less than a minute later.
I have tentatively changed the species of this bird at Dörthe's suggestion. I'm still not sure about this. I continue to see them from time to time, so perhaps I can get some better photos.
