Any vintage photos with about ten or more people in them are welcome here (though I'm willing to be pretty flexible with that number). I would prefer pictures taken before the 1970's, but if you're just desperate to post something from the seventies, chances are, I won't remove it.
This group celebrates photographs of 'roadside attractions'. In general, roadside attractions are features, objects or places along roads or highways, designed to make travelers and people stop and visit them. They can include but are not limited to: giant animals - myserious events - freakish aspects of nature - or bizarre man-made sculptures: giant donuts, immense hamburgers, towering statues of mythological or folkloric creatures, beings, or people.
They can also sometimes be special place…
This group aims to collect images taken with a historical or aesthetic content and showing the inimitable colo(u)rs of Kodachrome.
Please try to tag your photos with relevant details including date, place and situation to further their historical and / or documentary.
Maximum of 3 uploads per day in the hope of providing greater variety of themes and styles to the group. If you have a passion for Kodachrome, why not become an administrator for this group?
Please make sure the tintypes, ambrotypes and other collodion images that you post here belong to yourself. Do not post images that you have found around the web. Also, other than contrast, color and minor adjustments, absolutely no digital manipulations allowed.
Photographs of what is probably the majority of a family looking glum, bitchy, miserable, angry - whatever.
Please make sure that all of the family (or most) look this way - not just one person.
You get the picture.
Pre at least 1980 please, so that we don't get flooded with current digitals.
Vintage Real Photo Postcards from 1900 - 1970
Real photo postcards are actual photographs that have been developed onto photographic paper. They are generally the same size as standard vintage postcards (3-1/2" x 5-1/2"). Some do have a specific stamp box marking on the back which helps to date the card.
Please only post photos of your OWN collection. Thanks.
What exactly constitutes a posed group? Three or more people arranged in a formal fashion as the central object of the picture.
Whatever the event - whatever the group. To me there is a kind of magic to this type of picture. Some one has decided that this event - this moment in time - deserves to be preserved. Let's not disappoint them
