Sitting on the balcony having our dinner, we enjoyed the very beautiful mood in our stay the Sams Guesthouse. The other side of the Mekong is Laos.

Discover this town and you will like it. There are a lot opportunities to fill you program for a one week stay at this quiet place, only the barking dogs, the noisy motorbikes and longtail boats and the overturned karaoke loudspeakers bother the idyllic mood like its happen everywhere in Thailand.

This is one of my favorites places in Thailand and its Isaan. I often was reviewed by Thai and foreign people who say that this place isn't in Isaan anymore, but they are incorrect. Chiang Khan definitely is still located in Isaan.

The highway no. 211 is going from Nong Khai to Chiang Khan mostly along the Mekong riverside. Every body feels amazed when he is going this way with the breathtaking views to the river and the landscape beside.
