At a distance, you’d have expected otherwise:

A busy Sunday. After a couple of hours my company was hungry: we had to retreat for catering, and I decided to take this Richardian shot. Take a look at the glass: it reads “Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren”, since 1308, yet another Bavarian brewery with a long tradition. Though I emptied the glass on the left personally, I cannot tell if the beer is as good as its tradition suggests: it had been filled with juice –I was that day’s driver.

This part of the inn was where the malt had been stored once. Its brick vault supplied the photographer with a nice motif.

Steingaden is an old Bavarian town. Some shops still have signboards indicating the business of the shop owner.
