Landshut hat viel mit meinem Wohnort Icking gemeinsam. Z.B. liegen beide Orte am Ufer der Isar. Auffallendster Unterschied: Icking ist viel älter... ;-) Landshut has much in common with Icking, where I live; for instance, both lie on the banks of the river Isar. The most conspicuous difference: Icking is much older... ;-)

Fish are allowed to bypass the weir, but they must have the ability of climbing stairs...

Robbie never showed an inclination to swim, but when it’s very hot (as it has been for some time, now) he likes to go into the water until it reaches his belly. Here he’s standing in the Isar river, proud of having found a branch of about his own size.

Though it makes an archaic impression the “Ickinger Wehr” is only about 80 years old. It’s also the only way to cross the Isar in our area (and stay dry). Scan of a picture taken by my brother.
