No, it is a self-portrait, taken this Sunday in the late afternoon. From a tripod. To show that it’s really me, I even used a fill-in flash! :-) Acute observers will notice that the wind screen has arrived; it really helps.

For taking pictures, some photographers may rely on inspiration –I rely on boredom.

My family thinks it is, but I disagree.

This person (who is me, btw) is wearing a double toilet seat for glasses: a promotion of a Dutch toilet paper company on occasion of the soccer championships, last year. It goes without saying that the original color was orange. Unfortunately, the picture wasn’t sharp, and I felt obliged to make that less conspicuous.

One of those typical scenes... Robbie’s line firmly wound around my thigh (just in case he’ll detect an enemy earlier than I do). A nap of water (have I told you it was VERY HOT in Ferrara?). Waiting. In this case, we were waiting under the bell tower of Ferrara Cathedral. If I don’t look particularly happy, it must have been because something was missing... A cigar? Ah, wait a minute...

Not so hot perhaps as Evansville, Indiana, but 35º C/95º F is more than any ol’ hyperborean can bear (without sweating). The hotel, nice enough otherwise, had no airconditioning –perhaps we should have stayed in our car.

Vacation finally offered me the opportunity to concentrate on mastering a serious instrument.
