... 94 years old and still going strong! - Initially designd by Robert Garbe for the Royal Prussian Railway Administration (KPEV), the P8 later became a workhorse for the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) and other Railway Administrations throughout Europe. Built in 1921 by Linke-Hofmann in Breslau (today Wrocław/Poland) for the "Reichsbahn" as number "2580 Elberfeld" she was later redesignated to 38 3199, following the new classification system of the Reichsbahn. In 1926 the engine was sold to Romania and remained in service until 1974 when she was decommissioned. Railway buffs found her on a junkyard and had her rebuild 1999 in Klausenburg (Cluj-Napoca) in her original outfit and colors of the early Reichsbahn. Sie wurde 1921 von den Linke-Hofmann-Werken in Breslau gebaut. Bei der Deutschen Reichsbahn hatte sie zuerst die Nummer 2580 Elberfeld und wurde dann in 38 3199 umgezeichnet. Sie war zuletzt im Bw Breslau stationiert. Bereits 1926 kaufte die rumänische CFR die Maschine. In Rumänien erhielt sie die Nr. 230.106. 1974 wurde sie abgestellt. Eisenbahnfreunde entdeckten sie auf dem Schrottplatz und ließen sie in Klausenburg 1999 im Outfit der frühen Reichsbahn betriebsfähig aufarbeiten.
