Known as ski resort, Val d'Isere is much less busy in summer time. The "Funival" is the only funicular in Val d'Isère and provides access to a platform under the Bellevarde rock summit (ca. 2700 m). the cable car leads from the Aguille du Midi (3842 m) to the Punta Heilbronner (3462 m) and crosses the Mer de Glace.......its an old scanned slide.... Frei nach Helimars: "Karachogondeln" ;-)
