Cosmic Egg

29 Jan 2021 11 6 163
For years citizens have speculated about a heavily guarded site on top of Mt. Tamalpais highlighted by several enormous white globes. What is the military up to behind this secret fenced facility? Is it really true that these are eggs from that dreadful monster, Mothra , laid before it’s epic battle with Godzilla?? Could it be that the military is monitoring this dangerous spawn as part of some sort of hideous experiment to create the ultimate weapon? Inquiring minds need to know . . . This photo was taken by a KИEB-60 Ukrainian/Soviet medium format film camera and Калейнар-3В 2.8/150mm lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Fuji Neopan Acros 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.

Impactful

The effect of events unfolding during the past week have altered the political landscape of my country dramatically. The abrupt change has also left clouds of uncertainty on the horizon. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Divided

My country is sharply split by an ominous chasm. Rejoining the two opposing sides will require a bridge of hope and faith. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Ilford XP2 Super 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Monolithic

Somehow, a layer of buried sandy sediment was injected upwards into the rock crevasses above, later hardening into rock millennia ago. The softer rock eroded away, leaving the towering sandstone pillars standing hundreds of feet above the plain. Just how this process occurred is an unsolved problem. Geologists and theologians have competing theories involving hot geysers and the Genesis flood. As far as I am concerned, some of nature’s puzzles should be left to the imaginations of mystery fiction writers. The Planet Trona

23 May 2019 11 3 658
A planetary lander has just sent back images from the distant world of Trona (in a galaxy far, far away). My secret team and I have anxiously awaited images transmitted over billions of miles of intergalactic space and are now proud to show the public where vast sums of their tax money have been wasted. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Rollei RPX 25 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

No Vacancy

Immigration is a divisive issue in both Europe and the USA. On April 5, 2019 - President Trump declared America "full" as he warned illegal immigrants and asylum seekers to turn back from the southern border amid a surge in arrivals. I thought that I should check out the vacancy of my country several hours north of the Mexican/Californian border where Mr. Trump made this statement, to see how crowded the conditions were. Desert Highway

I have been looking at the world through a windshield and seeing everything in a little bit different light for the past few weeks as I traveled into the deserts and mountains of western North America. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens and HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Ilford Delta 100 Pro film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Impact Zone

The news cycle is full of discoveries of new exoplanets and asteroids, some of them in trans-Neptunian orbits extremely far away from the sun with others orbiting closer to the earth. The study of these objects is important when considering the 'impact' such bodies might have to life on our planet. A sturdy chainlink fence curbs my curiosity as I attempt to get the perfect angle for a photo of one such collision that occurred 50,000 years ago.

Classic Old West

Across the arid landscape I wander, traveling to some unknown destination.
