There is also a third kind of madness, which is possession by the Muses, enters into a delicate and virgin soul, and there inspiring frenzy, awakens lyric....But he, who, not being inspired and having no touch of madness in his soul, comes to the door and thinks he will get into the temple by the help of art--he, I say, and his poetry are not admitted; the sane man is nowhere at all when he enters into rivalry with the madman.

My country is sharply split by an ominous chasm.
Rejoining the two opposing sides will require a bridge of hope and faith.

Horrifying Discovery

During one of my backcountry excursions I have made a frightening observation. The Earth’s crust is cracking! The crevasse is profoundly deep, perhaps all the way to the mantle that the North America tectonic plate rides upon. From the profound depths I could hear the deep rumble of shearing rock. It appears that all of that talk about California falling into the Pacific is true. More shocking yet, is that much of the continent west of Colorado will also be taking a dramatic plunge.
Further research needs to be done to map the exact border of what will shortly become beachfront property. Soon, a rush to stake claim to that valuable real estate will rival the famous Oklahoma Land Run of 1893!
For those who see my observation as yet another kooky conspiracy by a confirmed lunatic, I have taken several photos providing evidence of the imminent danger.

The ancient deities have turned their backs on us from their lofty temple.
We must forge onwards, alone in search for our lost earthly paradise.

Find the Bighorn Sheep
One of the last stages of post-processing a scanned film negative is to "clean up" the dust and lint using digital tools (Healing and Clone brushes) at high magnification. Once in a while, I discover something within the photo that I failed to see when pushing the shutter button.
Can you spot the bighorn sheep in this photo? You may have to click "large".

A test of Ilford XP2 Super 400 film, a black and white film with a C-41 process for developing.
I conclude that it has great latitude and contrast.
